FAQs
A few things you should know about what we do
What is strategic Human Resources?
The process of using HR techniques, such as training, recruitment, analysis, procedures, systems & policies to create a stronger, more productive workforce. Strategic Human Resources supports your business objectives, goals & vision and aligns it with legislation & fair labour practice.
I don’t know what I need, but I need something?
That is fine, give us a call or drop us an email & we will set up a complimentary face to face consultation at your office, where we will listen to what the current reality of your business is & advise accordingly.
What is the cost?
Dependant on your needs & the extent of your work you will have the option of hiring us on an hourly rate or on a monthly retainer rate.
After our first complimentary consultation & visit to your premises we will provide a Needs Analysis which will clearly outline objectives & deliverables & a cost choice of a per hour rate or monthly retainer rate.
Why is Human Resources important?
Human Resource Management deals with issues related to performance & the management thereof, organisation development, safety, wellness, employee motivation & engagement, training, disciplinary & dispute management. HRM plays a strategic role in managing people and the workplace culture and environment. It also ensures legal compliance with respect to the Basic Conditions of Employment Act & other legislation.
What type of businesses do you work with?
We provide HR consulting services to all types of small and medium-sized businesses in & around the Western Cape as well as Johannesburg with between 4 – 50 employees.
We have worked in a number of different industries from the Tattoo Body Art industry – Interior Design – Retail – Metal Engineering.
Are you a recruitment company?
We work with clients to formalize & standardise their hiring procedure to ensure they have a systemized, efficient & fair approach to use for all their recruitment needs.
Some clients prefer a deeper & more increased involvement, so additional cost-effective hiring services we provide include: placement of job adverts, screening of CV’s, conducting phone interviews, recommending a short-list of potential candidates for the client to interview in person, conducting reference checks, sitting in on as part of the interview panel.
Why do I need a HR Consultant?
Many family-owned or small/ medium businesses, as well as start-up businesses typically, have someone unqualified & unskilled handling the HR of the business. Moreover, have someone whose management role has absorbed the Human Resources function of the Company.
Generally, this person has multiple duties & the HR duties form apart of his/her tertiary role. In many companies, the HR function is handled by the owner or the CEO or Director. These types of common practices are a liability to the business as more often than not, the business is functioning outside of the Basic Conditions of Employment. Employee relations are strained; there are inconsistencies & inaccuracies within management practices & the application of disciplinary, policies and procedures. Staff turnover is high & absenteeism increases & productivity is average – below average.
Given that we are Human Resource experts we can guarantee a higher level of success & performance in a shorter amount of time compared to having this function delegated to a full-time employee who is not a skilled professional within the Human Resource area.
